Eddie has moved up in various communications positions in the DCCCD since his initial role as public information coordinator at El Centro College in 1996. He first served in the DCCCD Foundation (prior to its merge with the District Resource Development Office) from 2001-2005 as its Manager of Communications.

Eddie then served as Marketing and Public Relations Director at Mountain View College for over two years before returning to the Development Office/Foundation in May 2007. In his current role as Director of Marketing and Communications, he is responsible for the strategic planning and execution of all marketing and communications of the office in its efforts to raise private and public dollars for the college district.

Eddie’s career in the communications and marketing field started in 1989, when he served as a sports writer for his hometown newspaper in Laredo, Texas. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Texas at Austin in 1988.
