Major Funds to Support

Rising Star Program
The Rising Star Program essentially eliminates financial need as a barrier to higher education in Dallas County. Rising Star promises eligible students that if they graduate from high school with a modest level of academic achievement, the Foundation will guarantee them the opportunity to earn a college education at the DCCCD. Worth up to $4,000 each, Rising Star scholarships cover all direct costs -- tuition, fees and books -- of a college education.

The Foundation is currently building a $30 million endowment to fund the Rising Star Program. Permanent funding enables us to guarantee this college opportunity to young people today, and for generations to come. Our vision is that elementary, junior high and high school students will get the message early that a college education can be a reality, not just a dream. Your support is essential in making this happen.

Chancellor's Council
The Chancellor's Council is a special group of leaders and friends who support essential projects selected by the DCCCD Chancellor. It has become a primary resource for the Dallas Community Colleges and is most important to the goals set by top leadership.

This fund enables the Chancellor to:

  • enhance scholarship assistance;
  • provide seed money to fund innovative programs designed to stimulate creativity to maintain the college's cutting edge;
  • support professional development for faculty and staff to enhance expertise, refine skills and interact with peers;
  • form collaborative partnerships with community organizations, corporations, foundations and individuals that enable a variety of community leaders to interact with educational leaders.

The Chancellor's Council is your opportunity to continue the pursuit of DCCCD's excellence. Recognition as a member requires a commitment of $1,000 or more.

General Scholarships
The Foundation, as well as each DCCCD college, provides scholarships to ensure that today's students have access to a college education. You can make your mark on tomorrow by giving these kids a college education today. Every penny of every dollar you donate goes directly to student scholarships.
