$500 per academic year ($250 per semester)

 

DEADLINE

First Friday in June

 

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

GPA: 2.5

ESSAY: One page (typed)

LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION: From a high school or college mentor

PREREQUISITE: First generation college student, Participated in service learning activity in high school or participate in service learning activity in college.

COLLEGE: Brookhaven College, Cedar Valley College, Eastfield College and Richland College

 


DESCRIPTION

The Marie M. Razkow Service Learning Endowed Scholarship was established in 1999 to honor Marie M. Razkow, sister of Dr. Ivan Martinez, former Vice President of CVC. This scholarship encourages service to school, community and country.

FULL REQUIREMENTS

Applicant must:

  1. Be a first-generation college student
  2. Have participated in service learning activity in high school or participate in service learning activity in college
  3. Be enrolled in a minimum of 9 credit hours per semester
  4. Maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher


Submit the following to the DCCCD Foundation office:

  1. Completed DCCCD Foundation scholarship application form
  2. One letter of recommendation from a high school or college mentor
  3. One-page typed essay describing why you want to be a Marie M. Razkow Scholar; include information about your service learning activities.
