Health Professions

We Teach Those Who Help You

In Dallas County:

6,900 nurses are needed to fill positions in the next seven years
1,000 nurses are needed annually for North Texas hospitals and health facilities
1,000 allied health technicians are needed each year to keep pace with the growing demand

Our colleges have been training health care professionals for over 45 years.

230 nurses graduate each year from our colleges
95 percent of graduates from our colleges pass the state board nursing exam
State-of-the-art simulation labs provide a “real-life” learning experience
Our graduates are employed all over North Texas, including Texas Health Resources, Baylor Healthcare System, Methodist Healthcare System, Parkland Hospital and UT Southwestern Medical Center to name of few

The cost for training one nurse is approximately $7,500.

The DCCCD and its Foundation have partnered with major leaders in the North Texas health care industry to create a comprehensive plan to produce more health care professionals and raise the exceptional quality of instruction and resources at our seven colleges to a higher level.
