BASIC REQUIREMENTS

GPA 3.0
MAJOR Math
PREREQUISITE Student must be enrolled in an institution of higher education the semester the scholarship is awarded.

DESCRIPTION

The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to those students who have shown an interest in math and served faithfully in the El Centro College Math Society.

FULL REQUIREMENTS

Applicant must:

  1. Be an El Centro student
  2. Be a member of the El Centro College Math Society
  3. Have a minimum 3.0 GPA
  4. Be enrolled in or have completed a college-level math class
  5. Attend 75 percent of math society meetings and activities


Submit the following to the El Centro College Financial Aid Office:

  1. Completed DCCCD Foundation scholarship application form
  2. A letter of recommendation from a math faculty member before the deadline which will be noted on the application.

SELECTION PROCESS

El Centro's math faculty will review all applications and select the top four. The El Centro College Math Society will then review the essay part of the application and choose the top two.

Notification to students: No later than August 1
