| TUITION
According to a recent report by the College Board,
the average published tuition and fees for in-state students at
Texas public four-year colleges and universities in 2007-2008 are
$6,437 – 8 percent higher than they were in 2006-2007. The
average published tuition and fees at Texas public two-year colleges
in 2007-2008 are $1,695 – 5 percent higher than in 2006-2007.
* Although tuition is rising at an alarming rate both statewide
and nationwide, the Dallas County Community College District remains
one of the most affordable choices for prospective students. The
Rising Star Program alleviates the financial burden for students
attending the DCCCD by covering the rising costs of getting an education
today and tomorrow.

* Important note: According to the College
Board’s recent report, Trends in College Pricing 2007 (www.collegeboard/trends),
the average cost of books and supplies for public two-year institutions
in the 2007-2008 academic year is $921. The average cost is $988
in the 2007-2008 academic year for public and private four-year
institutions. These estimates are based on a 9-month, 30-credit-hour
academic year. The amounts were halved to reflect a semester’s
average cost at the two-year and four-year institutions listed in
the above table. Although the actual costs of books and supplies
vary significantly between each institution or field of study, these
national estimates were applied in order to maintain the accuracy
and consistency of the table above.
