George
Rather Jones Memorial Scholarship
The George
Rather Jones Memorial Scholarship was established for students studying
the health professions at El Centro or Brookhaven College. George Rather
Jones and his wife, Eleanor Fordham Jones, are long time supporters of
DCCCD Foundation scholarship programs. In the mid 1970's, they established
the Alice Jones Berding Scholarship
in Music and the Cecil Wallace
Fordham Scholarship in Visual Arts. Upon the death of Mr. Jones in
the early 1980's, Mrs. Jones and the Jones family established the George
Rather Jones memorial Scholarship.
