Intel Opportunity/DCCCD Foundation Scholarship

In cooperation with the Intel Corporation, the "Intel Opportunity/DCCCD Foundation Scholarship has been established to assist full-time DCCCD students pursuing an Associate of Applied Science degree in Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology (SMT).

Amount of Award
Up to $3,500 each (disbursed in appropriate increments over four to six consecutive semesters).

Number of Awards Per Year
Nine - to be awarded district-wide at the discretion of selection committee.

Designated College
Eastfield, Mountain View, North Lake, and Richland Colleges.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be enrolled full-time (12 or more credit hours) in an Associate of Applied Science degree program with a major in Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology (SMT).

Applicants must also be U.S. citizens and be able to demonstrate financial need.

Application Process
Applicants must submit the following to the Financial Aid Office at the college they plan to attend:

  • Complete Intel Opportunity/DCCCD Foundation Scholarship Application Form
  • Complete a scholarship application form
  • Personal essay written according to the Intel Esssay Guidelines included with the Intel application form.
  • At least one and no more than three letters of recommendation. One letter should be from an individual who knows the applicant's work history.
  • Academic transcript showing applicant's most recent course work (high school, GED, or college)

Selection Process

  • Phase I - Financial Aid Office forwards all applications to Foundation.
  • Phase II - A special selection committee composed of Intel and DCCCD representatives determines the final winners.

Deadline
For application: October 30 for Spring semester and March 29 for Fall semester.
