Lynn McBee is wholeheartedly committed to the arts. A Dallas College Foundation board member who also chairs the Foundation's arts committee, McBee led the committee of community leaders that provided conceptual design direction for the Founders’ Foyer.

Former chair of The Arts Community Alliance (TACA), she served as 2011 board chair of the Dallas Film Society, the non-profit organization that hosts the annual Dallas International Film Festival. She has also served as the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas’ Tocqueville Society and 25th anniversary chairs; chair of the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge Opening Weekend Celebration; chair of the board of directors and life member of the Visiting Nurse Association; and past president of the Junior League of Dallas, to name a few.

As chair of the Foundation’s arts committee, McBee has played a crucial role in helping to spotlight art students, faculty and programs at the campuses of Dallas College.

In a June 2011 Dallas Business Journal article announcing her selection as chair of the Dallas Film Society’s board of directors, she was quoted as saying, “The life lesson I live by is, if you keep your head down and work hard and your intentions are pure and honest, things work out. You might have roadblocks and bumps along the way, but if you’re doing things for the right reasons and because you’re passionate about them, it works out.”

Fortunately for the Dallas College Foundation and its arts committee, Lynn McBee continues to be passionate about the arts – and focused on making it accessible to all.
