Myers-LeCroy Scholarship

The Myers-LeCroy Scholars Endowed Scholarship was established in 1988 by DCCCD Foundation Board Member Mike A. Myers to recognize the late Dr. R. Jan LeCroy, former Chancellor of the DCCCD from 1981 to 1988, for his exemplary leadership in education and in the community. Outstanding leadership and academics are two of the hallmarks of Dr. LeCroy’s tenure and are the main requirements of the Myers-LeCroy Scholars Program.

Eligible applicants include: high school seniors who will graduate in the spring and current students attending Dallas College.

Recipients of the Myers-LeCroy Scholarship will receive funds for tuition and books for up to six consecutive semesters. Recipients are mentored by Nancy LeCroy and Mike Myers serve as resources for recipients in the achievement of their personal, academic and professional goals. Close relationships are developed between recipients and mentors through special events scheduled throughout the year focused on cultural, political and social activities.

 

Dallas College & Beyond

 

Recipients of the Myers-LeCroy Scholars Endowed Scholarship are also eligible to continue their college education beyond the six semesters at Dallas College.

Transferring to any four-year university may be eligible to receive financial support for their junior and senior years of their degree for a total of $10,000 an academic year (a total of two years).

Myers-LeCroy recipients must maintain a 3.0 GPA during their junior and senior year to receive financial support. Applications for funding will be submitted to the Mike A. Myers Foundation. 

Application period is January 1st and ends on May 1st for the Fall semester.
