Open for only one week, two artworks sold from the most recent Founders’ Foyer Rotating Art Exhibit. The free exhibit, which runs now until April 2017, features pieces created by 18 talented student artists from the colleges of DCCCD.
The Foundation art committee, chaired by Foundation board member Lynn McBee, selected the pieces from nearly 100 entries and takes great pride in knowing that the exhibit provides a stepping stone for these artists. Other committee members include Gay Solomon, Megan Ruth Bowdon, David Droese, Lyn Muse, and Nita Clark.
The exhibit rolled out on November 30 with a special reception and awards presentation for the student artists. Many of the artists have also shown in exhibits at their colleges and some have gone on to represent the District in national competitions, such as the League for Innovation Art Competition.
The 18 artists (listed with their colleges) whose pieces were selected for the current exhibit include:
- Sharlann Adams, Cedar Valley
- Isahi Arrellano, Cedar Valley
- Amy Branch-Lambert, North Lake
- Brittney Capps, El Centro

The Founders’ Foyer and art exhibit are made possible through a generous gift from Margaret McDermott, founding vice chair of the DCCCD Board of Trustees. The DCCCD Foundation administers the Founders’ Foyer rotating exhibit and hosts the artists’ reception.
