Ruben E. Esquivel 


Esquivel, vice president for community and corporate relations at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, joined the DCCCD Foundation board in 1996 and has served on its executive committee since 2003.

He sits on the board of directors for Atmos Energy Corporation and is a member of the North Texas District Export Council (appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce).

Esquivel also serves as trustee of Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council Research and Education Foundation and director of the AT&T Performing Arts Center, Dallas Zoological Society, The Senior Source, State Fair of Texas, Stemmons Corridor Business Association, Trinity Commons Foundation, and the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas.  He is a member of the Dallas Citizens Council, the Oak Cliff Lions Club and the Salesmanship Club of Dallas.

He has received major honors for community service and leadership from the YMCA, Dallas Opera Women’s Board, Dallas Historical Society, Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council, TACA, Boy Scouts - Circle Ten Council, Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas, Dallas Concilio, Daughters of the American Revolution, and DeSoto City Council, among others.

Esquivel earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and completed graduate courses in business administration at Rutgers University and The University of Texas at Arlington.
