Dallas College Employees giving out food at the Campus Food Pantry

Dallas College Food Pantries

Keeping students on track to degrees and jobs is the Dallas College's number one priority. Nearly half of the Dallas College student population is food insecure. In the past 30 days, these students have eaten less at meals to make their food last longer or have skipped meals entirely. Many do not know where their next meal will originate. Yet, these students return to class, complete assignments and fight to earn their education, as they sacrifice so much to be here.

The struggle regarding food insecurity is real but we can do something to help.

In May 2020, the Dallas College Food Pantries donated 5.8 tons of food from its seven food pantries to food banks and to community partners across DFW, effectively clearing Dallas College shelves during campuses shut down in response to COVID-19. The food went to several community food banks and nonprofits groups in Dallas County including Metrocrest Services, Irving Cares, and the Cedar Hill Food Pantry.

Thank you for helping us replenish our pantries for our students and the Dallas community.
