Investment Opportunities

The Dallas County Community College District is embarking on a new system-wide approach to recruit, retain and graduate health care professionals at our seven colleges to meet the growing demand for care in the community. Center for Allied Health and Nursing

The DCCCD Center for Allied Health and Nursing is located at El Centro College. The seven-story, 120,000-square-foot facility is the hub of health professions training. The center features a fully equipped hospital-quality emergency room, simulation labs, skills labs, classrooms and technology, creating state-of–the-art learning experiences for students.
Title Naming - $6 million

Health Careers Resource Center

The Health Careers Resource Center  (HCRC) coordinates in-person and on-line access to the rich array of diverse credit and continuing education health professions programs at the colleges of DCCCD while helping students make appropriate choices of programs. It provides a one-stop-shop for employers and individuals interested in health careers, including exploration, testing, skills assessment, degree planning, and referrals to appropriate programs and financial aid resources at the colleges.
The center eliminates barriers for students, tracks student progress, coordinates clinical assignments, markets health career opportunities, recruits instructors for specialized areas, and reduces duplication of efforts and personnel at the colleges. It is a significant departure from business-as-usual in stand-alone programs.

Endowed Directorship of Health Careers Resource Center

The Endowed Director of the Health Careers Resource Center is the first time the DCCCD has sought support to assure the ability to attract and retain an outstanding, nationally-recognized individual to provide leadership for health professions programs at the seven colleges. 
Title Naming - $1 million

Endowed Nursing Fellows

Endowed Nursing Fellows assures that our colleges are able to attract and retain qualified nursing professionals with additional credentials needed to provide teaching excellence in the health professions.
Title Naming - $1 million

Start-up/Operating

These funds assure the successful and sustainable foundation needed to support the Health Careers Resource Center.
Support - $50K to $75K over three years
($150K - $225K total)

Technology/Placement Resources

These funds enable the Health Career Resource Center to have the sophisticated computer technology essential to custom-manage the thousands of students in the DCCCD’s health professions programs.
Support - $500,000
